Happy Things

Happy Thing #1 - Elf coffee holder. I made this for a special friend who shares my affinity for Elf culture :)  Buddy's hat is made from felt, and the text is a mixture of applique and free motion quilting.

Happy Thing #2 - I got a new sewing machine!!!! And it's awesome! And I got it for a total steal!!! My beloved mother-in-law has a bit of an eBay addiction, and she bid on a couple different machines and ended up winning them all...LOL! So when I was at her house the other day, I started playing around with the Pfaff (which she'd planned on returning) and fell in love. Sooooo we're buying it from her as my Christmas present - have I ever told you all how much I love my hubby? And how I *heart* him for supporting my sewing dreams?

The thing looks & runs like new, and the seller had it serviced right before she listed it (she included the service slip in the box). It's a Pfaff Creative 2140, and it kicks my rinky-dink old machine's butt.

Watch out, the yellow ones don't stop!

Happy Thing #3 - Ray and I are flying to New York City for my birthday tomorrow night! My birthday isn't until Friday, but we added a few days to our trip so we could spend time with two of my best friends from college. I'm SO excited that I've been singing the Peaches & Herb song "Reunited" in my head for WEEKS because I haven't seen either one of them in several years. "Reunited and it feeeels so go-ooooood..." 

And the best part is that through a roundabout Etsy connection, we got tickets to for the 4 of us to see Late Night with Jimmy Fallon live at the Rockefeller Plaza! YAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

I hope to have lots and lots of fun photos to share when we get back :)
